Essential Divorce Advice For Men

Typically, there are three types of men going through a divorce. There's the man who did something to break the marriage up, there's the man who's wife did something to break the marriage up, and there's the man who feels like it's time to move on. No matter which guy you are, you should follow some basic divorce advice for men to help you through these tough times.

Accusations and anger will not help you to get the things you want out of the divorce. Even your lawyer should be telling you that annoying or antagonising your soon to be ex-wife will only drag the whole thing out. The only thing that should be discussed on a regular basis during the divorce is if someone is abusive or potentially dangerous to children, if there are any involved. Someone cheating on someone else is the reason you are leaving each other, not why you should get the antique dresser or why she needs the car.

If you have any questions at all, ranging from how to deal with an angry woman to how to dress for court or any other divorce strategies for men, talk to your attorney. It might seem like you going to pick up the kids for the weekend is a personal matter, but you never know what events might pop their head up during the hearings so be prepared for everything. Staying calm is very important, but having knowledge of what your rights are will help you to stand your ground.

My divorce advice for men of all types is to remember this is not about one person winning but both people feeling like winners. Most nasty divorces become nasty during the divorce and aren't due to any tragedies during the marriage. Treat your ex-wife how you want to be treated, regardless of how she's treating you.
