It could help avoid potential problems and lead the way to calm discussions about distribution of assets and custody of children. If the woman becomes angry anyway and the man keeps his cool, it will be her that is being irrational.

Men should try not to upset the women involved in a divorce. No one wants to be unfair to anybody, people just feel differently about who deserves what. For items that a man is very adamant about getting something, there's no need to back down. However, he does need to be willing to make some compromises about who gets what because otherwise the divorce could take longer than it needs to.
